A few students were seen inquiring about the decision to scrap the government-quota seats at Sri Guru Ram Das Medical College (SGRD), Amritsar. The state government is yet to take a call on the matter.

SGRD has 150 seats, with 75 in the government (general) quota and 75 in the management/ minority quota. The fee for minority/management quota is approximately ₹40 lakh — four times the cost of a seat in government quota. Counselling for registered candidates is scheduled for July 17.
