13 SPs transferred in major police reshuffle in Himachal
SHIMLA In a major police reshuffle, the Himachal Pradesh government on Saturday transferred 13 superintendents of police (SPs). They comprise nine Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and four Himachal Police Service (HPS) officers.
The reshuffle comes three days after the government transferred seven police officers, including IG Zahur Zaidi and Shimla SP DW Negi, following protests over the gangrape and murder of a 16-year-old girl in Kotkhai near Shimla turned violent and rocked the state.
SP (Crime) police headquarters (PHQ), Shimla, Ashok Thakur was posted as Mandi SP, replacing Prem Thakur, who will be now the SP, PHQ, Shimla.
Una SP Anupam Sharma was posted as commandant, home guard, Hamirpur, while SP, State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Mohit Chawla will be the Solan SP. Child welfare officer (CWO), PHQ, Shubhra Tiwari was posted as additional inspector general (AIG), PHQ, Shimla.
Raman Kumar Meena, was transferred as Hamirpur SP, while Solan SP Anjum Ara will take charge as SP (Crime), Shimla. 1st battalion commandant Junga Shalini Agnihotri, who holds the charge of SP, Narcotic Control Bureau and CID Shimla, was posted as the Kullu SP. Additional SP, Kangra, Gaurav Singh will be the Lahaul and Spiti SP.
Kangra police chief Sanjeev Gandhi (HPS) has been posted as the Baddi SP. He will join duty on August 1 after the superannuation of the present incumbent.
SP, State Vigilance and AntiCorruption Bureau, Ramesh C Chhajta will replace Gandhi after he relinquishes charge as the Kangra SP.
Ajay Bodh, the Hamirpur SP, has been transferred as the Una SP, while Kullu SP Padam Chand will take charge as commandant, 1st battalion.
