Six obstruct BSF men on duty, booked
TARN TARAN: The Tarn Taran police have booked six farmers of border villages, on Monday, whose farm lands are across the fencing line, for allegedly deterring the Border Security Force (BSF) from discharging duty near KK Barrier, 50km from the district headquarters.
Accused are Surjit Singh and Tony of Khemkaran, Surjit Singh of Kalas, Karamvir Singh, Bittu and Partap Singh of Mianwala. In his complaint with the Khemkaran police, inspector Habib Khan, commandant B company, said that on July 16, Surjit and his aides came to fencing gate number 155-M near the KK Barrier Chowki. They started breaking the gate, despite repeated warnings from the BSF.
“When Sepoy Mukesh Kumar asked them to stay away from the gate, they threatened him and stayed put, deterring the BSF from performing their duty,” said Habib Khan. “Accused recorded videos on their cell phones at the fencing line and uploaded it on the social media, threatening India’s security,” he added. “They abetted BSF employees to shoot them,” he said.
