A case under sections 379-B (snatching) and section 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code has been filed against the miscreants.

Complainant Dalip Kumar of old Gobind Nagar has claimed that he had submitted a complaint to the concerned police station on the same day of the incident, but the cops failed to register an FIR.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Lambra police station SHO Pushap Bali said the victim had written to Mand police post earlier and added that the concerned head had initiated the investigation.

He added that, however, when the matter reached him, the case was registered immediately. Bali added that the case will be cracked soon and culprits will be held.

Mand police post comes under the jurisdiction of Lambra police station.

Kumar, who works at Jan Laxmi Financial Services in Basti Bawa Khel, had told police that he had gone to Kapurthala to collect cash installments from various villages.

He added that on his way back to the company’s office, three unidentified bike-borne assailants stopped and pushed him at Khehra Majha village near National Highway703-A.

“Two of the accused threatened me and the third snatched my bag that contained ₹1.25 lakh, a laptop, identification card and other accessories and fled.”

He also alleged that he tried contacting the police control room, but failed.

Later, he said he went to Lambra police station and informed the cops about the robbery and handed over a written complaint to the cops.
