WILL MOVE SC, WOMEN COMMISSION FOR UNRULY BEHAVIOUR AGAINST PARTY’S WOMEN MEMBERS FOR PROTESTING SHAH’S VISIT, SAYS AAP

ROHTAK: The Aam Aadmi Party said on Saturday it will hold a ‘havan’ and sprinkle Gangajal in every corner of Rohtak to purify it from Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) national president Amit Shah’s effect.

The party, which called Shah an expert rioter before his arrival, also demanded resignation from Haryana BJP president Subhash Barala after his son was arrested for stalking a woman in Chandigarh.

AAP state convener Naveen Jaihind said they will approach Supreme Court and women commission for biased behaviour against women activists of their party, who were detained and allegedly kept in police station overnight for trying to show black flags to Shah on Friday.

“It is Supreme Court’s guidelines that you cannot keep women in police station after sunset. However, Rohtak police flouted these guidelines at the behest of the BJP. While members of other opposition parties were released in evening, the police slapped FIRs against 20 workers for no reason,” Jaihind said.

Meanwhile, opposition parties including Congress and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) slammed the government for wasting public money to host Amit Shah in Haryana.

Former Haryana home minister and Congress leader Subhash Batra questioned the source of funds spent on “lavish stay and dining arrangements” made during the three-day visit of the BJP chief in Rohtak.

Indian National Lok Dal MLA and leader of opposition Abhay Chautala, too, questioned the misuse of government machinery by BJP during Shah’s visit.
