GURGAON: Two unidentified persons snatched a Maruti Suzuki Dzire near Westin Hotel in Sector 29, the police said.

The victim, a private cab driver, identified as Daya Shankar of Gonda in Uttar Pradesh, had halted his vehicle near Westin Hotel around 10pm on Wednesday, when two people approached him for water.

He came out of his car and handed them a bottle of water. The accused then started discussing some personal problems and after a few minutes, when Shankar was relaxed, the accused pushed him away from the car and made off with his vehicle.

Shankar told the police that he had raised the alarm but did not get any help as the area was deserted at the time.

A case has been registered at the Sector 29 police station under Section 379A (theft) of the IPC.

“An investigation is going on and we have not yet arrested anyone,” Sandeep Kumar, assistant sub-inspector of Sector 29 police station, said.
