LUDHIANA WOMAN SAYS ‘CAT MAN ‘ CHOPPED HER HAIR
LUDHIANA: In a series of braid-chopping incidents in the state, three fresh cases were reported from Ludhiana and one from Moga on Sunday. One of the victims, Zeenath, 25, a resident of Guru Gobind Singh Nagar at Tibba Road in Ludhiana, claimed that a creature, having the body of a man and face of a cat, chopped off her hair. The police have initiated investigation.
LUDHIANA/MOGA: In a series of braid-chopping incidents in the state, three fresh cases were reported from Ludhiana and one from Moga on Sunday.
One of the victims, Zeenath, 25, a resident of Guru Gobind Singh Nagar at Tibba Road in Ludhiana, claimed that a creature, having the body of a man and face of a cat, chopped off her hair.
The police have initiated investigation but didn’t find any clues that can substantiate the woman’s claim.
Zeenath said she was sitting outside a room in her house with her three-year-old son when she felt a touch on her back. When she turned around, a half-man and half-cat attacked on her and she fainted. When she regained consciousness, she noticed that her braid has been chopped off.
Assistant sub-inspector Kapil Kumar, in-charge at police post, Tibba Road, said we have questioned the area residents, but no one saw the creature as described by the woman.
In another incident, Ramesh Kumari, 57, of Ram Nagar, also in the Tibba Road area of Ludhiana, complained that unidentified men chopped off her braid when she was sleeping outside on Saturday night.
When she woke up in the morning, her braid was lying under her cot.
Another Ludhiana woman, Jaspreet Kaur, 50, a resident of Captain Nagar of Mundian, alleged that someone chopped off her braid on Saturday evening. The victim, who runs a grocery store, said someone pushed her from the back on Saturday evening following which she fainted. A customer, who found her unconscious, informed her family. When she regained consciousness, she found her braid chopped off.
The Meharban police have registered a case under Sections 295 (injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class) and 452 (house trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against unidentified person.
Sub-inspector Pavittar Singh, station house officer of the Meharban police station, said the police are trying to trace the accused.
MOGA WOMAN’S HAIR CHOPPED OFF IN SLEEP
A 55-year-old woman from Mandheke village in Nihal Singh Wala subdivision in Moga claimed that her hair was chopped off in her sleep on Saturday night.
In her complaint to the police, Angrej Kaur said when she woke up at 6am on Sunday, she found her hair chopped off. Her husband, Gurmel Singh, said initially she blamed him of cutting her braid. Station house officer Ravinder Singh said the police are investigating the case.
