DC’s pilot car collides with three-wheeler, bike; 11 injured
TARNTARAN: As many as 11 people, including an infant girl, have been injured after a collision between Tarn Taran deputy commissioner (DC)’s pilot car, a three- wheeler and a motorcycle near Safipur village, 5 km from the district headquarters, on Sunday.
The injured have been identified as Sukhwinder Kaur, Kulwinder Kaur and Joban Singh of Sheron village.
The trio was on the motorbike. Paramjit Kaur, Gurmeet Kaur, Jasbir Kaur, Ambo Kaur, Joginder Singh, Natho, Pyar Kaur and 18-month-old Manjot Kaur, were in the three- wheeler.
As per the information, DC Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal was on his way from Kadgill village to his residence at Sheron in his Innova SUV. While his pilot, Bolero SUV, was ahead of the Innova.
When the pilot car reached near Safipur village, a motorcycle suddenly came in front of the car. “Escaping the motorcycle, the car met with an accident,” said station house officer (SHO) Sadar Kamalmeet Singh.
“All the injured have been rushed to the local civil hospital for the treatment. Further action will be taken after the completion of investigation,” he said.“The injured will be treated free of cost,” said Rajneesh Arora, assistant commissioner to DC.
