Sports event organised by Elite Club, Patiala Mark of grace

Elite Club, Patiala, organised its first sports event recently at Physical Education College. The members participat­ed in events such as 100m race, shot put, lemon-and-spoon race, needle-and-thread race, sack race, back race, and one-leg race with great enthusiasm. There was also selfdefenc­e training organised by Satwinder Singh. Shelly Kohli, president of the club, said that this event was one-of-its-kind and had tested the fitness levels of the ladies. The winners of the ‘lemon spoon’ race were Param, Harman, and Tisha at the first, second and third positions respective­ly. In the sack race, Simpika came first, Vandana second, and Sukhwinder third. In the 100m race, Param stood first, Tanya second, and Simpika third. In the needle-and-thread race, first was Simpika, Neelam second, and Sarita third. In shot put, first was Param, Amisha second and Tisha came in third. In the ‘back race’, Simpika came first, Param came second and Tina came third. Param Bindra won the ‘Athlete of year 2017’ award.
