Will provide jobs to 2 lakh under Saksham Yojana: CM
KARNAL Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Saturday that the state government had set a target to provide employment to two lakh people under the Saksham Yojana. Saksham is scheme to turn youth into self-sufficient entrepreneurs and job creators.
Officers had been directed to appoint youth under the Saksham Yojana in various departments where there is shortage of employees and apart from government offices, the youth would also get job opportunities in industrial units, said the chief minister during his visit to Karnal.
He also laid the foundation stone of a power sub-station in Karnal.
LAYS STONE OF ₹115-CR PROJECTS
The CM inaugurated and laid foundation stones of various development projects that have cost Rs 115 crore in different parts of the district. “We will spend Rs 326 crore in Karnal under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) on sewerage and drainage, urban transport and development of green spaces and parks. We will spend Rs 84.5 crore on drainage of rain water, whereas Rs 160 crore would be spent on laying the sewerage,” he added.
He said plans had been drawn to set up a trauma centre every 60 kilometres to provide instant medical facility to those sustaining injuries in road accidents on national highways.
Khattar avoided interacting with media persons, who had been waiting for him for several hours. The CM asked people to pay their electricity bills and shun the old habit of power theft so that the government could ensure uninterrupted power supply in the state.
