ROHTAK: A five-member panel of doctors from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Rohtak was sent to Sunaria jail after Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim reportedly complained of ill health on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the security forces conducted a mock drill at the PGIMS amid reports that Ram Rahim could be brought to hospital, if required. However, his check up was conducted in the jail itself.

PGIMS director Dr Rakesh Gupta said an isolated ward was prepared, taking into consideration the security concerns.

He, however, denied having any knowledge if Ram Rahim would be brought to the hospital.“Room number 105 in Ward 24 has been set up if any prisoner

has to be brought here. The mock drill was conducted today to look into the security aspects. The routine hospital functioning will not be affected, if any prisoner is brought to this ward,” Dr Gupta said.

He said a five-member doctor panel is always on a standby to be sent to jail in case of any call.

Ram Rahim, who was convicted of raping two of his female disciples, had requested for less punishment on grounds that he suffered from acute diabetes, hypertension and severe backache.
