‘Cong bosses have picked a ‘corrupt’ CM’
Sharpening its attack on the ruling Congress party in Himachal, Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday sought explanation from All Indian Congress Committee President Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi for choosing ‘corrupt’ Virbhadra Singh to lead the government in Himachal Pradesh.
The party launched a campaign ‘Hisaab Maange Himachal’ against the state government. Initiating the campaign, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra said, “Sonia and Rahul chose Virbhadra to lead the government in Himachal so that he keeps sending the ill-gotten money to 10 Jan Path.”
“Virbhadra was shifted to the lesser significant ministry of small, medium enterprises ministry from steel one due to allegations of corruption,” Patra said, adding that the government in Himachal has failed on every front.
BJP raked up the Gudiya rape and murder case and launching attack on government, Patra said, “IG police and other personnel responsible for the investigation in Gudiya rape case murdered the accused in the custody. It means they were hiding something.”
Patra added that a forest mafia was also active in the state. “Forest, liquor, mining, transfer... All kinds of mafia are patronised by the state government,” he said.
He said there had been incidents of tree felling in the assembly segment of forest minister and chief minister as well while the government tried to save the culprits.
He also said the government twisted the liquor policy of the state and now the supply is being made by a private firm. “If you have seen the roots of the company supplying liquor, it leads to Virbhadra Singh,” alleged Sambit. “Mafias and Congress have an old unholy alliance,” he said, adding that ministers had been patronising corruption.
“Not only Virbhadra Singh but Congress President Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi are also on bail and very close to be sent to jail.”
On being asked about Rahul Gandhi’s speech in the United States, Patra said, “Rahul is speaking in the US as no one takes him seriously in India.”
