10yearold’s rape: DNA samples of 8 sent for testing

-

More than two months after a resident of Sector 37 was booked for the rape of his 10-year-old niece and two weeks after the 45-year-old’s DNA did not match the child that the girl delivered, the police are getting DNA profiling of the two main accused done again. In addition to the two accused, blood samples of six more people who had access to house of the rape victim have also been sent for DNA test. Police said it takes around 45 days to get the report of DNA test, but the police will try and expedite these. HT had highlighted on September 11 that the DNA report was negative and ‘paternity of the accused was excluded’ from this case.
