MUMBAI: IIT Bombay has collaborated with Next Education India Pvt Ltd, an education solutions provider, to conduct two MOOCs for school teachers focussing on teaching aids and methods.

The courses will commence on October 5 and will be open for teachers across India.

The two courses are ‘Pedagogy for effective use of ICT for school teachers’ and ‘Pedagogy for effective use of ICT for CS school teachers’.

The purpose of the two courses is to make the teachers technology-ready as teachers will be exposed to TeachNext, a software for digital pedagogy.

The courses will be delivered by faculty at IIT Bombay with participants receiving certificates after completing the programme.

The programmes are aimed at developing a collaborative community of teachers to share best practices pertaining to the use of relevant ICT tools to achieve teaching-learning goals.

This initiative is in continuation to the previous MOOCs conducted in April this year, during which, 553 teachers from 127 cities across 27 states enrolled for the programmes.

According to Beas Dev Ralhan, CEO and co-founder, Next Education India Private Limited, the success of the first round of workshop encouraged them to organise it again to reach out to more teachers.
