Free will plays a crucial role in our lives to mould our destiny. Everyone has the option to take decisions using his or her own freewill. Our success, failure and actions are governed by the decisions we take. If we take correct decisions and act accordingly, nothing can prevent us from achieving what we want to achieve.

The outcome of any act depends on so many factors over which we have no control. That is why even the best laid out plans of the mightiest and most intelligent people end up in complete failure and utter chaos.

To shape our destiny, free will becomes a prerequisite. Destiny is derived from our past, free from the present. What you are now is the result of what you did in the past. What you shall be in the future will be the result of what you think and are doing now.

Once, someone asked Sri Sri Ravi Shankar about destiny and free will. He said: “Your weight is your free will, while your height is destiny”. What he meant was that you can increase or decrease your weight by various means like dieting or exercise, but you can practically do nothing about increasing or decreasing your height.

Whenever the intensity of the free will is more than destiny, free will castes its influence upon destiny, and at times destiny becomes more powerful than free will. There are many ways to reach a destination; it’s upon our choice and free will to choose the road so as to achieve success or failure.
