AMRITSAR: Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi) president Paramjit Singh Sarna on Thursday lodged a complaint with the Akal Takht against Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) chief Manjit Singh GK, alleging that the latter made derogatory remarks against Guru Gobind Singh.

On behalf of Sarna, local Congress leader Maninder Singh Dhunna handed over the complaint to Akal Takht jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh.

A pen drive, which contains recording of GK’s phone conversation with another person, has also been attached with the complaint.

Sarna claimed that the remarks made by the DSGMC chief are highly objectionable and cannot be tolerates by the Sikh community. “By making such comments, GK has exposed his thinking. Nobody can expect this from the head of such a big Sikh body,” said Sarna, who is former DSGMC president.

Observing that it is blasphemy, he demanded strict action against GK.

‘JATHEDAR SHOULD AID SACRILEGE PROBE’

Sarna also made an appeal to the Akal Takht jathedar to cooperate with the Justice Ranjit Singh commission, constituted by the Capt Amarinder Singh government to probe into the sacrilege incident at Bargari village in Faridkot district.

“Akal Takht jathedar took strict action against former Akali minister and rape accused Sucha Singh Langah, showing seriousness. But why is he not serious about the issue of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib?” he asked.
