ALWAR: A 35-year-old woman who worked as a taekwondo coach in Rajasthan’s Alwar district plotted with her lover to murder her husband and their three children, the police said on Saturday.

Four days after the bodies of her husband, their three children and a nephew were found in their house in Alwar, the police arrested the woman, her lover and two hired killers.

Alwar superintendent of police Rahul Prakash said that during investigation it was learnt that the woman was involved in an extramarital relationship with another man.

“Santosh Devi, the wife of the deceased Banwarilal, had joined taekwondo classes around two years ago and a man called Hanuman Choudhary was her coach. Gradually, they were involved in an illicit relationship,” said Prakash.

Devi and Choudhary wanted to live together which led them to plan the murder of her 45-yearold husband and children aged 17, 15 and 12 years, he added.

A 10-year-old nephew, who was sleeping in the same room, was also murdered by the accused.

“The duo hired two contract killers who have been identified as Kapil (19) and Deepak (20). On the night of October 3, Devi gave her husband and children food laced with an anaesthetic drug which led them to fall asleep,” said Prakash.

After midnight, Devi opened the door to her lover and the two killers who entered the room where the rest of the family were sleeping, the police said.

“The accused murdered her husband and children along with a nephew, who was at the room, with knives. Investigation suggested that Devi’s eldest son tried to struggle with the assailants before he was killed too,” said the SP.

Choudhary, who lives in Udaipur, was arrested. The two hired men were arrested from Alwar, said the police.
