METRO FARE HIKE NEEDED

-

Some political parties and a fraction of the public are opposing increase in the Delhi Metro fare. Their criticism is baseless. In every public transport such as trains and buses, air-conditioning facility is costlier and people have to shed extra when they travel in such coaches. But in the Metro, every passenger can travel in AC coaches with the same fare. Are the people, who have their own vehicles, not paying for petrol and diesel, whose rates rise every day? Metro is the lifeline of Delhiites. Increase in its fare is justified to keep it going. RL Bansal, Kurukshetra
