MAINTAIN ROADS

-

People pay road tax and have the right to better roads. States collect taxes only to pay subsidies and nurture their vote banks. The condition of roads in Panchkula and Mohali is pitiable. Better roads contribute to development as they help in saving fuel and time of commuters. If emperor Sher Shah Suri could conceptualise the Grand Trunk Road centuries ago with no modern technology and resources, why can’t governments of the day ensure motorable roads? It’s because they lack the will.
