Rohtak brothers stabbed to death for intervenin­g in fight

ROHTAK Two brothers were night stabbed to death on Monday after they intervened in a fight involving their friend in Rohtak’s Indira Colony area. The deceased have been identified as Vishal Saini (18) and Rahul (17).

Police said their friend Ankur Singh had a quarrel with Sonu alias Aryan Sardar of his locality in December last year while playing some sport. Ankur told police that Sonu had been threatenin­g him since then to get shot dead by Happy, a local hoodlum.

On Monday night, Ankur was standing with his friend Keshav near an Ashram when Sonu along with Happy came with two more men and started thrashing them. When Vishal and Rahul came for Ankur’s rescue, Happy took out a knife and stabbed the two brothers multiple times in stomach and other body parts.

Ankur said Happy had an old rivalry with Rahul over some past incident. He said when they shouted for help; locals gathered at the spot after which Happy, Sonu fled away with their two associates.

The locals informed their families, who rushed them to Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), where Rahul and Vishal were pronounced dead during treatment.

Based on Ankur’s complaint, the police have registered a case of murder and voluntary causing hurt against Happy, Sonu and their two associates identified as Mani and Sachin Luhar.

The police said no arrest has been made so far.
