Rlys, roadways, ropeways to be BJP’s focus, says Piyush Goyal
SHIMLA:Railways minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday said the BJP government at the Centre as well as the state after will focus on 3Rs—railways, roadways, ropeways—for Himachal after December 18.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Goyal said people of the state have made up their mind to vote for the BJP. “Himachal will now compete with Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh by making our party victorious with a record vote percentage,” he said.
The railway minister said, “Before 2014, the BJP had governments in the six states, including governments of allied parties, but now we have governments in 18 states.”
He said the government led by Narendra Modi at the Centre has set an example of governance with transparency and integrity. “Our focus was on infrastructure development across the country without any delay,” he said.
“We are going to create a new India with every person has a house, better health and education facilities,” he added. He said Himachal has high potential in the field of tourism. Goyal also said “Earlier, the annual investment on railways in Himachal was ₹108 crore but now it has increased to ₹512 crore,” he said, adding, “Work on four new railway lines have started.”Goyal said the BJP bagged more than 80% seats in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. “In Himachal, people will vote for BJP,” he said. He said, “The BJP’s vision is a new Himachal, pragatisheel (progressive) Himachal.”
