Rlys, roadways, ropeways to be BJP’s focus, says Piyush Goyal

SHIMLA:Railways minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday said the BJP government at the Centre as well as the state after will focus on 3Rs—railways, roadways, ropeways—for Himachal after December 18.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Goyal said people of the state have made up their mind to vote for the BJP. “Himachal will now compete with Uttarakhan­d and Uttar Pradesh by making our party victorious with a record vote percentage,” he said.

The railway minister said, “Before 2014, the BJP had government­s in the six states, including government­s of allied parties, but now we have government­s in 18 states.”

He said the government led by Narendra Modi at the Centre has set an example of governance with transparen­cy and integrity. “Our focus was on infrastruc­ture developmen­t across the country without any delay,” he said.

“We are going to create a new India with every person has a house, better health and education facilities,” he added. He said Himachal has high potential in the field of tourism. Goyal also said “Earlier, the annual investment on railways in Himachal was ₹108 crore but now it has increased to ₹512 crore,” he said, adding, “Work on four new railway lines have started.”Goyal said the BJP bagged more than 80% seats in Uttarakhan­d and Uttar Pradesh. “In Himachal, people will vote for BJP,” he said. He said, “The BJP’s vision is a new Himachal, pragatishe­el (progressiv­e) Himachal.”
