2 Assam rifles personnel killed in Manipur blast

IMPHAL: Two Assam Rifle personnel were killed while around six were injured when suspected militants exploded a powerful bomb in Manipur’s Chandel district border- ing Myanmar on Monday morning. The incident took place when the personnel of the 18 Assam Rifles were passing through Mahamani village area road under Chandel, a hill district headquarters, about 65km south of Imphal, at 6.20 am, security forces sources said. One of the personnel died at the spot while another succumbed to his injuries, sources said.
