Number of Indians studying in US doubled in five years
NEW DELHI: The number of Indians studying in the United States almost doubled in the past five years to reach about 1.86 lakh in 2016-17, growing by 12.3% over the previous year, according to the 2017 Open Doors Report on international educational exchange data released by IIE and the US department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs on Monday. The number of American students coming to India for academic credit at their home university in the US, however, registered a decline.
