Three office-bearers and 11 executive members were elected unanimously.

New SGPC office-bearers

Raghujit Singh Virk, senior vicepresident

Constituency:

Karnal (Haryana)

Age: 52

Virk has been SGPC member since 1996 and has also served as senior vice-president of the SGPC. He belongs to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and his family has been associated with the party since its formation. He is a prominent Akali face in Haryana

Harpal Singh Jalla, junior vicepresident

Constituency:

Doraha (Ludhiana)

Age: 63

He has been SGPC member since 2011 and is a veteran SAD leader.

Gurbachan Singh Karmuwal, general secretary

Constituency:

Naushehra

Pannuan

Age: 65

Karmuwal has been SGPC member since 2004. He also served as member of SGPC executive during the tenure of Avtar Singh Makkar as its chief. He is a prominent Akali leader of Tarn Taran district and close aide of Akali stalwart Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, Lok Sabha MP from Khadoor Sahib.

Gurtej Singh Dhadhe Constituency: Rampura Phool (Bathinda) Age: 71 Dhadhe has been SGPC member since 2011 and an active worker of SAD for 46 years. He is close to senior Akali leaders Balwinder Singh Bhunder and Sikandar Singh Maluka

Sajjan Singh Bajjuman Constituency: Kala Afgana (Gurdaspur) Age: 80 Bajjuman has been SGPC member since 2011 and a SAD member since childhood. He is general secretary of the party’s local unit. He is close to senior SAD leader and former assembly speaker Nirmal Singh Kahlon

Bhagwant Singh Sialka Constituency: Mattewal (Amritsar) Age: 56 Sialka, a lawyer in district courts of Amritsar, has been SGPC member since 2011. He is associated with Damdami Taksal. He has been inducted into the SGPC executive from Taksal quota

Lakhbir Singh Aryanwala Constituency: Faridkot

Age: 64 Aryanwala, associated with SAD for long, has been SGPC member since 2011. His father Ajit Singh remained SGPC member for 37 years and also served as general secretary

Gurpreet Kaur Constituency: Sultanpur Lodhi (Kapurthala) Age: 51 Gurpreet Kaur has been SGPC member since 2011. She is a close relative of former Akali minister Bibi Upinderjit Kaur, daughter of party stalwart late Atma Singh. She heads the local unit of SAD’S women wing

Hardev Singh Rogla Constituency: Dirba (Sangrur) Age: 62 Rogla has been SGPC member since 2011 and associated with SAD for the past 35 years. He is close to senior Akali leader Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa. He is also former sarpanch of his village Rogla.

Ravinder Singh Chak Mukerian Constituency: Mukerian

Age: 61 years Chak Mukerian has been SGPC member since 2011. Before being elected as member, he was in government service. He is close to former SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur

Gurmeet Singh Booh Constituency: Zira (Ferozepur) Age: 46 Booh has been SGPC member since 2011. His father Kashmir Singh remained member of the gurdwara body for many decades.

Baba Gurmeet Singh Trilokewala Constituency: Sirsa (Haryana) Age: 52 Trilokewala has been SGPC member since 2011. He is a religious preacher and head of Gurdwara Nirmalsar Sahib at Triloke Wala village near Sirsa.

Navtej Singh Kauni Constituency: Gidderbaha Age: 60 Kauni has been SGPC member since 2011. He is an old member of SAD and close to party patron Parkash Singh Badal

Amrik Singh Shahpur Constituency: Dera Baba Nanak (Gurdaspur)

Age: 68 Shahpur has been SGPC member since 2004 and SAD member since 1971. However, he had parted ways with the party after the Akal Takht jathedar pardoned Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim.
