VICTIM, YET TO BE IDENTIFIED, WAS KILLED WITH SHARPEDGED WEAPONS AND HIS BODY DUMPED NEAR GHAGGAR RIVER AT BHAMISARA VILLAGE, SAY COPS

PATIALA : An unidentified youth was found murdered along the banks of Ghaggar river at Bhamsara village in the district on Saturday.

Julkan police station SHO Harvinder Singh said the murder came to light when village sarpanch Satwinder Singh, who was on way to his field, found a blood-stained bag near the river. He informed the police about the matter.

“The police immediately rushed to the spot and recovered the mutilated and decomposed body of the youth, who had a tattoo on right arm. Prime facie, it appears that the youth was killed with sharp-edged weapons at some other place and his body was dumped near the river,” the SHO said.

He said the police had not recovered any identity card or mobile phone from his possession. “We have circulated his photograph with details of some identification marks to all police stations so that the deceased could be identified,” he said.

The police have registered a case under Section 302 (murder) and 201 (destruction of evidence) against unidentified persons.

NO HEADWAY IN DJ MURDER

Four days after the brutal murder of 30-year-old Nahid Salmani, a DJ who also ran an orchestra, the Patiala police are still groping in the dark to trace the killers.

Nahid’s body was found at his residence on November 29. He was attacked with sharp-edged weapons . The police also recovered used condoms from his room, raising suspicion over involvement of women in the crime. “Nahid had estranged relationship with his wife, who was living in Bengaluru. We have got his call details in which reveal that he was allegedly in touch with several women,” said a senior police official.
