Cops doing shoddy job, CBI must take over investigation: K’shetra villagers
VILLAGERS ORGANISE SPECIAL PANCHAYAT, DECIDE TO MEET KHATTAR THIS WEEK TO DEMAND CBI PROBE
KURUKSHETRA: Residents of Sarsa village held a panchayat on Sunday, demanding probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the murder of three siblings who were allegedly killed by their uncle.
The bodies of the children aged 11, 8 and 4 were found in Panchkula’s Morni forest more than a week ago.
Accusing police of tardy investigation, the villagers said that the police have so far failed to ascertain why the children’s uncle Jagdeep, 26, had ‘killed’ them. They were also perplexed as to why the police are denying the involvement of Sohan Malik, alias Sonu, the father of the three children, despite Jagdeep’s claim that he had killed his children in connivance with Sonu.
“People gathered in the panchayat held on the Tehrvi (final day of mourning). There is no evidence why Jagdeep had killed Sonu’s children. Also why could the police not give evidence to prove that Sonu was not involved in the murder of his children,” Sarsa village Sarpanch Karambir Singh told HT.
“The villagers want the truth
to come out and want CBI investigation as the local police have so far failed to find out the reason behind the triple murder,” he added.
The sarpanch also said that the villagers also want an investigation into why Jagdeep had transferred the ownership of 11 acres of agricultural land to his wife about a year ago.as per sources, the villagers have decided to meet chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar this week to demand CBI probe.
COPS GET PERMISSION FOR FATHER’S POLYGRAPH TEST
Meanwhile, police said that they have got permission to conduct a polygraph test on Sonu Malik, the father of the three children.
“A separate team of police officers is investigating the case,” said Kurukshetra DSP Gurmail.
