ANOTHER CEASEFIRE VIOLATION IN POONCH

Pakistan once again resorted to ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LOC) in Khari Karmara area of Poonch district on Sunday, targeting forward defence locations drawing retaliation from the Indian Army.

The fresh ceasefire violation came after a lull of three days, when on Wednesday the Pakistani army had violated the ceasefire in Mankote area along the Line of Control in the Krishna Ghati sector.

Police said, “Pakistan army initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms from 11am in the morning, which lasted for around one hour.”

“The Indian Army posts retaliated strongly and effectively to shelling and firing from the Pakistani army,” the police added.

However, there were no reports of any casualties or damages on the Indian side.

On last Tuesday, the Pakistani army had pounded shells along the Line of Control on army posts and civilian areas in Malla Parot village in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district.

While last Monday also, they had violated ceasefire along the Line of Control in Janghar area of Nowshera sector on Rajouri district.
