SAD LEADER’S SON INJURED IN FIRING, 4 BOOKED

SANGRUR : A Lehragaga SAD leader ‘s son was injured in a firing on Monday. The attack on Gurdeep Singh, 22, son of Lehragaga SAD women wing president Charanjit Kaur, took place around 9 when he was in a market. Gurdeep said four people fired on him from a pistol and fled from the spot.

SANGRUR : A Lehragaga Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader ‘s son was injured in a firing on Monday.

The attack on Gurdeep Singh, 22, son of Lehragaga SAD women wing president Charanjit Kaur, took place around 9 when he was in a market.

Gurdeep said four people fired on him from a pistol and fled from the spot.

Gurdeep, who received a bullet injury in his right leg, was rushed to a local hospital where doctors referred him to the Sangrur civil hospital.

He is now stated to be out of danger.

Police have registered a case against four persons under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal code at the Lehra police station.

They have been identified as Manmohan Singh and Gurdeep Singh from Rali village, Komaljit Singh, Datewas village and Yadwinder Singh alias Lucky, a resident of Kular Khurd. No, arrest has been made yet .

Charanjit claimed the accused had entered into an altercation with her son at a wedding function on Sunday.

“On Monday, they came in a car and fired on my son without any reason,” she said, adding that the case needed to be investigated properly
