32 injured in road mishaps in Jammu

IN THE FIRST INCIDENT, A BUS EN ROUTE TO POONCH FROM JAMMU FELL DOWN INTO A 100FT GORGE

Jammu:thirty-two persons were injured in two separate road accidents in Rajouri and Doda districts on Thursday.

Fortunatel­y, no one was critcally injured in the twin mishaps.

Police said around 1.30 pm, a bus on its way from Jammu to Poonch, skidded off the road and rolled down 100 feet into a field at Kallar Chingus, on Jammupoonc­h highway.

Twenty-five persons were injured in the accident.with the aid of locals, police rescued the injured from the bus and then shifted them to district hospital in Rajouri.

The condition of all the injured is stated to stable and were out of danger.

Police said, prima-facie it appears negligent driving led to the accident. Meanwhile, police has arrested the driver and after registerin­g a case, has initiated the investigat­ion.

In the other incident, two multi-utility vehicles collided at Pul Doda, near Doda town.

Police said around 11.30 am, a Tata Sumo and Tavera moving in opposite directions, collided into each other on a narrow curve.

Seven persons were injured in the accident. All the injured were shifted to district hospital in Doda, where their condition was stated to be stable.
