Teacher ‘rapes’ minor student for 3 days in Kishtwar

THE ACCUSED KEPT VICTIM HOSTAGE FOR THREE DAYS IN A NEARBY VILLAGE, WHERE HE ALLEGEDLY RAPED HER

JAMMU: A Class 10 student has allegedly been raped by her teacher after abducting her over a period of three days in Paddar area of Kishtwar district.

The accused, a father of four children, is posted at government middle school, Leondi village in Kishtwar.

As per sources, the victim has also been earlier exploited by the teacher.

The victim has studied till class 8 in the same school where the accused is teaching. At present, the victim is studying in high school.

The victim in her statement has told police that on December 12, the teacher Surinder Sharma picked her for a marriage in the area and kept her hostage for three days in a nearby village, where the teacher allegedly raped her. He even threatened of dire consequenc­es if she told about the incident to anybody.

After the girl did not return home, the family got worried and started searching for her. After getting the informatio­n that the family is looking for the girl, the accused abandoned the girl near village Padyarna.

The family informed about the incident to police, who registered the FIR.

Later, the medical of the victim was also carried out at the district hospital in Kishtwar.

Padder SHO Rafeeq said , "We have lodged the FIR and launched a manhunt to nab the accused.”
