Rocky Mittal is new project director, PR dept cell

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana government has appointed Jai Bhagwan aka Rocky Mittal as project director, ‘Ek Aur Sudhar Cell’ of information, public relations and languages department, with immediate effect, an official release said on Thursday.

It may be recalled that Youtube singer Mittal, who assisted the government with golden jubilee year celebrations in January this year, was sacked from the post of publicity advisor (audio, visual) and later re-appointed in June in the culture department.

Though no reason was cited for Mittal’s removal, it was however, understood to have been for his remarks against the state government in which he said that large-scale corruption had taken place in the state’s golden jubilee celebration functions, which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Gurugram on November 1, 2016.

Last year, Mittal, who hogged the limelight with his songs “Modi Amritwani” and was inducted in Haryana Kala Parishad, had said he felt insulted with the post given in the council. Mittal, a self-proclaimed ‘Narendra Modi Bhakt’, was appointed as the chief adviser of Haryana Kala Parishad, though he said the post was not according to his standing or the hard work he put in.

Mittal, who belongs to Kaithal district, had gained popularity in the saffron party circles by singing paeans to Modi in the run-up to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
