We are filling pits dug up by Cong: Khattar
KARNAL: A day after a delegation led by Congress leader Randeep Surjewala met the President Ram Nath Kovind seeking his intervention over the scrapping of the Dadupur-nalvi canal project, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday accused the Congress of politicising the issue.
“We are filling up the pits dug by the Congress during its rule and Dadupur Nalvi is also a very big pit of the Congress,” said the chief minister during an interaction with the media during his visit to Karnal on Saturday evening.
“Even the President of the India knows the reality of this project and farmers are happy with the government’s decision of scrapping the project, but the

Congress leaders are looking for political gains through the issue,” the chief minister added.
The chief minister said the project will not provide any benefit to the farmers but it was dug up to mislead the farmers.
The chief minister also reviewed the ongoing developmental projects in Karnal.
He said that he was satisfied with the work on Kaithal road bypass, construction of a bus stand and railway under pass, and these will be completed by March 31.
He also held a meeting of the officers of the district administration.
