ROHTAK: Police have arrested two youths for stabbing ABVP leader Rocky Gulia to death last Friday.

The accused are Rocky’s friend Shashi (20) and his associate Sunil (19) for killing ABVP student leader to death last Friday. Rocky (19) was stabbed in full public view near his residence in Sher Vihar Colony of the district. He was recently appointed as the ABVP secretary at Rohtak’s Hindu College.

The police said accused Shashi and Sunil were trying to flee the city and were nabbed from the bus stand. They were produced in the court on Tuesday that sent them on two-day police remand.

The police said Rocky and Shashi, though neighbours, had indulged in a quarrel few days back when Shashi had come to Rocky’s college for some work. During the quarrel, Rocky had slapped Shashi in front of students. At that time, their families brokered a truce between them, but Shashi continued to nurse a grudge against Rocky for insulting him. He then chalked out a plan to kill Rocky and sought his friends’ help. On the day of the incident, he purchased knives from a nearby shop and stabbed Rocky to death in the evening in front of a large crowd that remained passive bystanders. Rocky was rushed to PGIMS where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
