Rohtak:throwing yet another challenge at the BJP government, All India Jat Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) president Yashpal Malik has now threatened to take over the venue of BJP national president Amit Shah’s rally in Jind on February 15.

Malik said they will hold the rally at the same venue where the BJP president is scheduled to address the public on February 15. “BJP may have announced the rally. But the venue will be filled by Jat protesters. I, along with other Jat leaders, will be sitting on the stage and addressing public about BJP’S betrayal to the Jat community,” Malik said.

The state government has sought 150 companies of the paramilitary forces to ensure maintenance of law and order. However, the Jat leader said no amount of forces would be able to stop them in their mission.

“We are not afraid of any number of security forces. The government is advised to fulfill our demands before February 15 and we will cancel our protest,” Malik said.

The BJP had planned to welcome Shah with a bike rally comprising 1 lakh motorcycles. However, the Jats have threatened to clog Jind with their tractortrailers. In Jat-dominated villages, the residents have started registration of tractors to disrupt Shah’s bike rally.

“We have tractors, they have bikes. One can imagine who will have a stronghold on roads,” Malik said.

Despite government’s announcement to withdraw 70 FIRS against Jats, the community has remained adamant at disrupting Shah’s rally on February 15. The Jat leader said the government had been befooling the community. “Till the government agrees to withdraw all the FIRS and set deadline for Jat quota, our protest will not end,” Malik maintained.
