Former Cong block president’s video slapping man before cops goes viral
An ASI and two constables are also seen thrashing 3, including a woman
TARN TARAN : In a video that went viral on the social media on Friday, a former block president of Congress party from Chohla Sahib, was seen slapping a turbaned man, who was reportedly trying to make a video clip of a quarrel between two Dalit groups of Rani Walah village on Tuesday on the Amritsar-ferozepur national highway near Sarhali village.
The 5.59-minute video, shot reportedly on Tuesday evening, shows Congress leader Nishan Singh Rani Walah slapping a turbaned man, reportedly a worker of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), in the presence of assistant sub inspector (ASI) Tarlochan Singh and two other cops. Nishan is seen also snatching a mobile phone from a person, who was also recording the video.

with him a man, Kulwinder singh, forcibly in his Muruti Suzuki Swift Dzire car (PB-46-S0270). A woman, identified as Harpreet Kaur, tries to stop Nishan by standing in front of his car but in vain.
The AAP’S district president Manjinder Singh Sidhu alleged, “On Tuesday, Nishan and his aides tried to tease a woman of the village, but they were stopped by her family members. After which, Nishan came once again there and thrashed members of the alit family.”
He said, “The family was going to Sarhali hospital for treatment, but they were waylaid by Nishan and the police party near Sarhali. When our worker Avtar Singh tried to shoot the incident, Nishan snatched his mobile and slapped him in public. The ASI also slapped the man.”
Station house officer (SHO) of Sarhali police station, Kawalpreet Singh, said, “We called Avtar Singh, who alleged that he was slapped by the ASI and some other man, but he didn’t turn up. It was a minor tussle between two Dalit families in the village due to which the quarrel ensued near Sarhali.”
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Darshan Singh Mann said, “I have suspended the ASI and a departmental inquiry has been initiated against him. Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) of Patti Sohan Singh has been asked to probe the video and action will be taken against Nishan according to law.”
