PAK PASHTUNS END PROTEST AFTER GOVT ASSURES THEIR DEMANDS WILL BE MET
ISLAMABAD: Hundreds of Pashtuns, protesting the alleged encounter killing of a young shopkeeper and social media star in Karachi, ended their demonstration in Islamabad on Sunday after the Pakistan government assured that their demands would be met. Minister Azam Khan told the protestors that the killer of Naqeebullah Mehsud, 27, would be arrested soon. However, the protestors — many of them from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas — said that four of their demands were yet to be met. They have said that they would return if the government does not address their demands, which include the repeal the Frontier Crimes Regulation and other draconian laws as well as a plea to stop stereotyping Pashtuns in Pakistan.
