ROHTAK : The Haryana government has despacthed 84 doctors and 35 ambulances from seven districts of the state to be stationed in Jind from Tuesday till the end of the BJP chief Amit Shah’s February 15 (Friday) rally. Around one lakh motorcyclists are expected to welcome Shah to Haryana.

A health department communique to civil surgeons of Gurgaon, Faridabad, Palwal, Fatehabad, Sirsa, Narnaul and Rewari asked for two physicians, two surgeons, two anesthetists, six general doctors, one ALS (advanced life support) ambulance and four BLS (basic life support) ambulance from each district to be sent to Jind.

Jind civil surgeon Dr Sanjay Dahiya said he had requested for doctors as only only one fourth of posts are filled.

“Most of the doctors sought shall be deployed at health centres on the highways, since bikers will be coming from far-off places,” Dr Dahiya said.

The opposition has slammed the move. “Many districts of Haryana will be doctor-less for next three days. The state is putting its citizens at risk. Is BJP president more important than 50 lakh citizens of these districts?” Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala tweeted.

NARNAUL TURNED DOWN REQUEST

Narnaul civil surgeon Dr Dayanand Bagri told HT they had to turn down the request of the government because they themselves were short of doctors. Rewari civil surgeon said they could only send field doctors from primary and community health centers because sending

from the civil hospital would affect their functioning.

CM TAKES STOCK OF PREPARATIONS IN JIND

CHANDIGARH: Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday visited Jind to take stock of the arrangements.

To a question, he said, “In a democratic set up, it is inappropriate for a political party to oppose the rally of other political party. Protests against the rally are just a disgraceful gimmick.”
