GURGAON: A 65-year-old woman from Palam Vihar on Saturday was assaulted by two men who wore white wigs to pose as elderly men to enter and rob her house. The accused reportedly attacked the woman, tied her hands and locked her in bathroom and before they fled with her valuables.

The victim, Kamlesh Sachdeva, said around 7pm on Saturday, a man with long white hair knocked on her door and said he had come to pay condolences for the death of her father.

As soon as she opened the door, the man forced himself inside along with an accomplice who was hiding out of sight. Sachdeva said the two then assaulted her until she handed them the keys to her almirah.

They then locked her inside a bathroom as they robbed her house.

She has suffered injuries and was admitted to a private hospital later in the evening, officials said. Police officials have not been able to determine what was taken from her house as the victim has been in the hospital.

“A man with long white hair, who looked around 40-years-old, with a bouquet in his hand knocked at my door. He took my father’s name and said he wished to convey condolences as my father had passed away 10 days ago. As soon as I opened door, another person also appeared quickly and the two pounced on me, started beating me and dragged me to bathroom asking for the keys to my almirah. I tried to resist by hitting them . Finally, I handed them the keys and they tied my hands and locked me in the bathroom,” said Sachdeva, who lives alone.
