HP Central University to have campuses at Dehra, Dharamshala
REPLYING TO A QUESTION RAISED BY THEOG MLA RAKESH SINGHA, BHARDWAJ THE GOVT HAS TRANSFERRED LAND IN THE NAME OF CU AT DEHRA
SHIMLA : Himachal education minister Suresh Bhardwaj on Monday said the Central University will have two campuses, each at Dharamshala and Dehra, whose foundation stones will be laid this year only.
Replying to a question raised by Theog MLA Rakesh Singha, Bhardwaj said, “The state government has transferred land in the name of CU at Dehra. In Dharamshala, the government had earmarked land for the varsity, but the same has to be transferred yet.” Singha, meanwhile, also asked the government to settle the land-related issues.
Nurpur MLA Rakesh Pathania raised questions over the illegal mining being carried out at Chakki Khadd of Kangra. Industries minister Bikram Singh said action was being taken against people involved in such practices. He also said no person will be allowed to set up stone crushers who had been challaned for illegal mining.
He added that 120 crushers have been penalised with ₹80.71 crore in the state.
