6 PPSC, 2 SIC members take oath

PUNJAB GOVERNOR VP SINGH BADNORE ADMINISTER­ED THEM THE OATH OF OFFICE AND SECRECY

CHANDIGARH: Punjab governor VP Singh Badnore on Tuesday administer­ed the oath of office to six new members of the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) and two state informatio­n commission­ers (SICS) in the presence of Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh.

The new PPSC members are Amar Partap Singh Virk, Gurpartap Singh Mann, Jamit Kaur Teji, Lok Nath Angra, Neelam Grewal and non-official member Supreet Ghuman.

The new informatio­n commission­ers are Khushwant Singh and Sanjeev Garg.

Among the new Punjab Public Service Commission members, Amar Partap Singh is a former Indian administra­tive officer (IAS) officer from the state, while Gurpartap Singh Mann is a former chief general manager (CGM) of the Punjab Infrastruc­ture Developmen­t Board (PIDB).

Jamit Kaur Teji is an associated professor of Punjabi at the Government Post Graduate College for Girls, Sector 11, Chandigarh, Lok Nath Angra is a former Indian police service (IPS) officer and Neelam Grewal is former dean, post graduate studies of Punjab Agricultur­al University (PAU), and director Indian Council of Agricultur­e Research (IACR).

Supreet Ghuman is a practicing lawyer.

Among the state informatio­n commission­ers, Khushwant Singh is an eminent author and a popular columnist, while Sanjeev Garg was associated with Aruna Asaf Ali Trust, Chandigarh, and is former vice-chairman of Punjab Agro Industries Corporatio­n (PAIC).
