SCHEMES INVOLVING 6,000 PLOTS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN THE STATE ON THE ANVIL

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) is going to offer more than 6,000 plots in different urban estates across the state in the coming few months. HUDA is going to float new sectors in locations such as Mahendergarh, Jagadhri, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Dabwali, Safidon, Hisar, Fatehabad, Ambala, Pinjore, Gohana, Rewari and Taoru.

“We are going to float several new plot schemes, around 6000 plots, including new sectors. Mahendergarh will be the first location where we will be offering new plot scheme. For the Mahendergarh scheme, we have applied for the project registration with the state real estate regulatory authority. We are expecting to receive the registration in the next few days. After the registration we will be in a position to offer the scheme to the public,” said, J Ganesan, chief administrator, HUDA.

The scheme is expected to be launched by the month-end. In Mahendergarh, plots will be offered in Sector 9A (P), sector 10 and Sector 11 (P).

The last HUDA scheme was floated in Rohtak, around one and a half years ago. “We have large land banks around the state. But, most of it is located in the medium and low potential areas,” said Ganesan. So, new HUDA schemes will be coming in these areas rather than in areas like Gurugram.

COMPETITIVE PLOT PRICES

Plot prices are yet to be decided. In general, plot prices are expected to be equivalent or marginally higher than the prevalent market prices.

“Whenever HUDA brings a new sector, maximum saleable area is 55%. This time our effort is to optimise the utilisation of the saleable area available. Recently, the government revised different norms, which will effectively increase the net saleable area. This will reduce costs for the authority and plot prices for the public,” said Ganesan.

Norms related to areas earmarked for different amenities and facilities have been revised. For instance, earlier, 5 acres were to be reserved for a school site, now, this can be 2 acres, which is in line with the Central Board Of Secondary Education (CBSE) guidelines.

The new sector launches are expected to help raise muchneeded funds for the financially struggling HUDA.
