HISAR: The family of an eight-year-old rape survivor and members of nomadic tribes from six states will hold a mahapanchayat at the civil hospital in Hisar on Sunday to discuss further course of action against the Hansi sub-division police after they arrested the paternal uncle of the minor in connection with the case.

Family of the victim, which is attending to her at the civil hospital, told the mediapersons that police had arrested victim’s uncle just because he was the first one to spot the crying girl at the crime site.

‘POLICE ARRESTED WRONG PERSON’

The family members claimed that police had arrested a wrong person as they already have suspicion on three youths of their village, who were consuming alcohol at the same time when the incident took place.

“People from our community will hold a mahapanchayat and discuss the further course of action into the matter,” victim’s father confirmed.

The minor’s mother had alleged that few villagers have even cut-off their basic supplies such as electricity and water, and the family members were under constant fear.

“We have asked members of the nomadic tribes from six states to join the Sunday meeting,” victim’s father said.
