Dera Sacha Sauda doc complains of chest pain, hospitalis­ed

DR MP SINGH HAS BEEN ACCUSED OF PERFORMING CASTRATION ON DERA FOLLOWERS OF GURMEET RAM RAHIM

PANCHKULA: The doctor accused of castrating Dera Sacha Sauda followers at the behest of dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim was admitted to Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, after he reportedly complained of chest pain. He was in judicial custody in Ambala central jail.

Sources close to the accused told Hindustan Times that Dr MP Singh, alias Mahendra Insan, was admitted three days back after which his counsel moved a plea before the special Central Bureau of Investigat­ion (CBI) judicial magistrate court, which is currently hearing the castration row, to seek permission for his heart surgery from Delhi’s Sri Ganga Ram Hospital.

His counsel claimed that his heart problem has amplified. He claimed that Singh’s three heart arteries had 85% blockage. The court of judge Kapil Rathi will hear the plea on May 1. An alumnus of All India Institute of Medical Science, Dr MP Singh, was also booked for his involvemen­t in inciting violation that erupted on August 25, 2017 along with dera chief’s adopted daughter Honeypreet and others.

Meanwhile, as per the chargeshee­t filed by the CBI on February 1 in connection with castration row, dera follower-turnedcomp­lainant Hans Raj Chauhan submitted a list containing names of 166 dera followers who were allegedly castrated .

The CBI claimed that 128 of these allegedly castrated devotees were contacted and examined during the probe and six of them deposed against the accused during investigat­ion.
