147 recruit constables pass out from BSF’S Subsidiary Training Centre
HOSHIARPUR: A passing-out parade for the 243rd batch of 147 recruit constables, including 63 women constables, was held at the parade ground of the Subsidiary Training Centre (STC) of the Border Security Force (BSF) camp at Kharkan here on Saturday evening. The pass-outs took oath to serve the nation with dedication. Additional director general of BSF (western command) Kamal Nayan Choubey reviewed the parade as chief guest.
PS Bains, inspector general at the STC, revealed that the batch had a representation from major states of the country, the highest number of 36 recruits having come from Odisha.
The constables underwent 44 weeks of training, which included weapon handling, war tactics, drill, border surveillance, disaster management, first aid, and combat training apart from studying subjects of human rights, he informed.
The ADGP appreciated the efforts put in by trainers and rewarded top securing male and female recruits in various fields. Recipients of the Police Medal for Meritorious Services were also presented with medals.
Ex-servicemen were honoured with medals and scroll for their meritorious services to the nation. Constable Devendra Singh Rathore was adjudged the overall best recruit.
The chief guest exhorted the recruit constables to be honest and fully committed in border management and internal security duties to keep the flag of the BSF high.
He said the BSF had proved its credentials during counterinsurgency and anti-militancy operations besides performing internal security duties.
