DON’T RUN AFTER CENTRAL JOBS, MILK COWS FOR A LIVING, SAYS DEB

AGARTALA: Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb has come up with yet another advice. He said the youth of the state should milk cows instead of running after politicians for a government job.

“There should be a cow in every house. Why run after netas for government jobs? Milk is being sold at ₹50 per litre. Graduates should get cows and milk them to earn ₹10 lakh in 10 years instead of running after political parties,” said Deb, who has been in the news over the last week for his critique on model-actor Diana Hayden and views on existence of internet during Mahabharat.

Deb was speaking at a seminar organised by the Tripura Veterinary Council at Agartala.

He went further to suggest that if milking cows does not work, opening a paan shop, too, could be a good career choice.

“Youths should not run after government jobs but focus on generating employment of their own. Here, the culture of seeking government jobs and running after political parties has grown for two decades. Youths waste the vital time of their life. Had the same youth opened a paan shop instead of running after political parties, he would have a bank balance of ₹5 lakh by now,” Deb said.

Deb said that the PM Narendra Modi-led government offers several bank loans for micro-businesses under the MUDRA scheme to help people gain selfemployment.

Deb said educated youths are running away from agriculture, piggery and poultry as they think it is beneath their status.

“Educated youths’ narrowminded ideas don’t allow them to opt for farming or poultry farming... This has led to a rise in unemployment,” he was quoted as saying.

Of late, Deb has been in the news for his unusual pronouncements. On Friday, the chief minister had said that mechanical engineers should not choose civil services.
