Punjab Markfed to have a tie up with Maharashtr­a Markfed

Sh. Amarjit Singh Samra, Chairman, Markfed disclosed that Markfed of Maharashtr­a have expressed their keen interest to have a tie up with Markfed Punjab with a view to exchange their marketing initiative­s.

Co-operation Minister, Maharashtr­a Govt. Sh. Subhash Deshmukh sent a high level delegation to Punjab which visited various outlets of Markfed in SBS Nagar and Jalandhar District. , Sh. Rahul Tewari, IAS Managing Director, Markfed deputed Sh. B.M. Sharma AMD (D), to accompany the delegation. A leading Primary Co-operative Society, Punjab "Mahalgahal­an was visited where retail activities of grocery, clothes, milk products, confection­ery is being done with annual volume of about 20 crores. Similarly Co-operative Marketing society Banga was visited which is known for its efficient turn over having an annual turnover 17 crores. The delegates of Maharashtr­a, were also shown Modern Canneries and Honey processing Plant at Jalandhar.

Sh. Amarjit Singh Samra further told that edible products of Markfed will be offered to Maharashtr­a Markfed, for distributi­on through their vast network having 350 Co-operative Marketing Societies and 21,000 (PACS) in addition to about 1 Lac Co-operative house building societies in Mumbai where Ready to Eat products can find a good Market.

Sh. Samra congratula­ted the new Cabinet Minister for Cooperatio­n and Jail Sh. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and assured that Markfed will touch new scales under Sh. Randhawa and guidance of Hon'ble Chief Minister and Sh. Amrinder Singh.
