Jilted lover arrested for killing woman, injuring friend in Baddi

SHIMLA:A man has been arrested for killing a 20-year-old woman by slitting her throat with a sharp-edged weapon and injuring her friend at Baddi in Solan, police said on Thursday.
The victim belonged to Una and was working as an intern with a pharmaceutical company in Baddi, the police added.
ACCUSED WAS ALSO HER COLLEAGUE
The accused, Akhil, who also belonged to Una, has been arrested, said Baddi superintendent of police (SP) Bindu Rani Sachdeva, adding that he was also interning with the same company.
As per police, the two were earlier on cordial terms but their relation had turned sour in the past few days.
“The accused came to victim’s room on Thursday morning and picked a fight with her that turned deadly,” the SP said and added that Akhil was angry over why the victim had stopped talking to him. She said when victim’s friend tried to intervene, he also attacked her.
The accused has been booked under Section 302 (murder) and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and further investigation is on.
However, postmortem report was yet to arrive.
