Row over missing water camper claims woman’s life in Hisar

HISAR: A dispute over a missing water camper allegedly turned ugly at Agroha village in the district on Wednesday, when a camper supplier crushed a middle aged woman to death under his goods carrier.

The deceased has been identified as Santro Devi (55), a resident of Krishna colony.

The victim’s nephew Baljeet Singh told the police that the family had organised a function at their home recently and they had ordered water campers from supplier Pawan Kumar.

On Wednesday, Pawan came to their house and started fighting with Santro Devi over one missing camper.

“My aunt told Pawan that they don’t have any camper left at their house. But Pawan asked her swear by God in a local temple. My aunt accepted his proposal. When we were on the way to the temple, Pawan turned back his Tata Ace and ran it over my aunt.

“He fled the spot immediatel­y thereafter. We took her to Agroha medical college where doctors declared her bought dead,” Baljeet said in his police complaint.

Police said they have registered a case of murder against the accused and efforts are on to arrest him .

Police spokespero­n Chander Bhan said, “We have sent the body of the deceased to Agroha medical college for postmortem. Further investigat­ions are on.”
