BFUHS invites applicatio­ns for MBBS, BDS courses till June 23

THE UNIVERSITY IS YET TO ANNOUNCE SEAT DISTRIBUTI­ON AND FEE STRUCTURE FOR THE UNDERGRADU­ATE COURSES

FARIDKOT: The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, has invited applicatio­ns for the combined counsellin­g for admission to MBBS/BDS among other undergradu­ate courses in all medical and dental colleges in the state, including private universiti­es and minority institutio­ns. BFUHS will hold counsellin­g for MBBS and BDS courses. The Neet-qualified aspirants can submit their applicatio­n online till June 23.

However, the varsity is yet to announce the seat distributi­on and fee structure for the undergradu­ate courses.

DOMICILE AFFIDAVITS MANDATORY

It also made mandatory for the candidates to submit affidavits of state domicile by their parents and guardians that the student has not obtained the benefit of residence for admission in MBBS/BDS courses in any other state/ut except central counsellin­g by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

DISTRIBUTI­ON OF SEATS

BFUHS registrar Arvind Sharma said the university will hold a meeting with the officials concerned on Monday to decide on the distributi­on of seats for undergradu­ate courses.

“The university is extra vigilant this time as the candidates allegedly took multiple domicile benefits in the past years.

Therefore, we have made mandatory to submit an affida- vit,” said Sharma.

SGRDMC uploads fee structure, seat distributi­on

Sri Guru Ramdas Medical College, Amritsar, has uploaded on its website the fee structure and seat distributi­on for the MBBS course.

The fees structure of MBBS course for general management/open merit/reserved categories/general minority is ₹6,60,000 with 10 per cent fee hike every year and 1.10 lakh dollars for NRI candidates for the entire course.

The college has distribute­d a total of 150 MBBS seats of which 75 are general management/open merit which further include 64 general and 11 NRI seats. The general minority category includes 64 minority and 11 NRI seats.

SGRDMC principal Manjit Singh Uppal said though they have uploaded the details the final decision will be taken after the meeting with the directorat­e of medical eduction and research.
