Nigerian man held for duping Ggm woman of ₹15 lakh
GURUGRAM:THE Gurugram police cyber cell, on Saturday, arrested a Nigerian national for allegedly duping a Gurugram-based woman of ₹15 lakh.
The accused has been identified as Paul Bagaam Ezekeil of Luvu Masaka in Nigeria.
Police said the accused was arrested from Greater Noida through his IP address.
During interrogation, the accused confessed that he had befriended the victim on social media networks, namely Facebook and Whatsapp. He introduced himself as Wood Pascal from Scotland. After gaining her trust, he told the victim he would courier expensive gifts to her, but she would have to pay the custom duty and delivery charges.
The victim then transferred ₹15 lakh to an account in multiple transactions, police said.
